Fee guidelines for psychological services are monitored by the Ontario Psychological Association.  Dr. Rynard’s fees are in line with those guidelines.

Psychological treatment / therapy with Dr. Rynard is billed at $260/hr, while psychological treatment / therapy with an associate (supervised by Dr. Rynard) is billed at $210/hr.  In-person and virtual therapy appointments are both available options for treatment.  Psychological treatment sessions are 50 minutes long, with the remaining 10 minutes of the hour being set aside for notes, treatment planning, and file maintenance.

The cost of a comprehensive psychological / psychoeducational assessment is $3,640.  If the assessment includes a query for Autism Spectrum Disorder, additional testing will be necessary.  As such, the fee for an Autism assessment is $4,160.

The cost of a gifted assessment is $1,040.

Psychodiagnostic assessments are billed at the hourly rate of $260/hr for Dr. Rynard or $210/hr for an associate supervised by Dr. Rynard.  These assessments typically take between 6-8 hours to complete.

Fees for psychological services are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Coverage for psychological services is often provided through private extended health insurance plans, workplace benefits, or employee assistance plans. It is recommended that you consult with your extended health insurance company to determine the specifics of your coverage.

In cases where a person may have limited coverage, short-term therapy of 3 to 5 sessions may be considered.  A little therapy is often better than no therapy.  One or two sessions can sometimes be instrumental in helping you learn about yourself, your needs, and how to best tackle your problems.

Clients are asked to pay at the end of each session by either cash, cheque, credit card, or e-transfer, at which point a receipt is issued that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement or use for medical expenses on income tax.  If payment has not been received within 30 days of the invoice date, interest for late payments will be calculated at 15%, compounding monthly.
